How to remove location and EXIF data from photos

See what hidden metadata your photos contain — GPS, camera, date — and strip it before sharing.

Open EXIF Viewer & RemoverSee and strip photo metadata — runs in your browser

Most phone photos contain EXIF metadata: the camera model, the time it was taken and often the exact GPS location. Some sites strip it, but many don't.

Steps

  1. Open the EXIF Viewer & Remover.
  2. Drop one or more photos.
  3. Review what's there — if there's a location, you'll see it.
  4. Remove the metadata and download the clean copies.

When it matters

  • Selling items online from home
  • Posting photos of your children
  • Sharing images with strangers or in public forums

Hiding things inside the picture

Metadata isn't the only leak. Blur or pixelate house numbers, number plates and faces with Blur & Pixelate or Pixelate Faces.

Privacy

It would defeat the point to upload a photo just to remove its location. This tool reads and rewrites the file in your browser.
